First Presidential debate

Staying up until the early hours on a workday to watch the US presidential debates, which promised a lot, but ended up being like watching Spurs for the last two years – mostly disappointing. One takeaway from the debate was that the predictions made by many including the left (my friends at Novara for one) of Biden collapsing and getting destroyed by Trump at the debates due to his perceived cognitive decline was well wide off the mark, guess many didn’t factor in who is he up against not exactly an expert in coherent thought and impeccable articulation. Whilst I will follow the polls and make a prediction once the election draws closer (because I like to as I am of the unapologetically nerdy kind) if I had to call the election today I would say if the turnout is going to be high then Biden will win. If however, we will see something similar to the Brexit referendum where the hipster strongholds such as Shoreditch, Camden and Hackney were one of the most active in signing the petition calling for a second referendum, but the actual turn-out to vote was below the expected numbers we will most certainly see a different outcome as Trump’s base will probably be as solid as ever. I still think at this point anyway Trump has a good chance of winning. The talk of states such as Texas possibly going Democrat I think are well wide off the mark. I am also inclined to think that he will win Florida again, defo Ohio and not all that sure that the Dems will actually take states like Arizona from him, contrary to the polling. Wisconsin too is defo not in the bag for Dems at this point. It will be close….Or Lukashenko will just nick it with 80 % of the vote
